Generali participates in ‘M’Illumino di Meno’
promoted by Radio2 and Caterpillar, switching off the lights of its iconic headquarters in Milan, Trieste, Venice, and Rome

Milan – For the 7th consecutive year, Generali participated in the M’illumino di meno initiative promoted by Rai Radio2 and Caterpillar in 2005 and now in its 21st edition. On the evening of Sunday 16th February - National Day for Energy Saving and Sustainable Lifestyles - the Group launched a message to promote sustainability by switching off the lights of its iconic buildings in Italy: the Generali Tower in Milan, Palazzo Berlam in Trieste, the Home of The Human Safety Net Foundation at the Procuratie Vecchie in St. Mark's Square in Venice, and the headquarters in Via Bissolati in Rome.
Every year, the initiative calls on the community to turn off all unnecessary lights: a symbolic gesture to promote energy saving and the ecological transition. At 7:30 pm, for about half an hour Generali switched off the lights of the Company’s headquarters chosen to give visibility to the initiative.
Barbara Lucini, Generali Country Italia Head of Sustainability & Social Responsibility, said: “Generali joins ‘M’illumino di meno’ with the shared goal of promoting sustainable lifestyles, reduce waste starting with individual behaviour, and promote the transition towards a low greenhouse gas emissions economy. A symbolic gesture to remind us that we can all contribute to building a more prosperous future.”
