Carlos Escudero Segura

Carlos Escudero Segura is the CEO of the Generali Group Spain since September 1, 2023. Since 2024, it includes the business from the former Liberty Mutual West European Markets, which is currently in the process of integration. 
He is also a board member of Cajamar Vida and Cajamar Seguros Generales, the joint ventures that Generali Group Spain maintains with Cajamar. Additionally, he serves as president of Generali’s Foundation ‘The Human Safety Net’ in Spain.

He holds a degree in Business Administration from CEU San Pablo University and an MBA from IE Business School.

Carlos Escudero has an extensive experience in the insurance and financial sectors. He began his career at McKinsey & Company consulting firm, specializing in banking and insurance. He later joined Liberty Mutual Insurance, first in Spain and then in Latin America, where he served as CEO of Liberty in Chile and later as President of the Andean Market.

Before joining Generali, he was Regional Head of Insurance Europe at Santander Bank.

With a professional experience in 13 countries, he has a strong track record in leading growth and transformation strategies, as well as M&A, having managed three integration processes as CEO - the most recent being the integration of Generali and Liberty Seguros in Spain, Portugal, Ireland, and Northern Ireland.

Throughout his career, he has learned that resilience, adaptability to change, and continuous customer-centric innovation are key to success. As a holistic leader, he has a strong focus on people and fosters multidisciplinary teams, enhances talent development, and strengthens commitment to the company’s values.

As CEO of Generali Group Spain, he leads the company's transformation and growth strategy. He is proud to uphold the legacy of a company with nearly two centuries of history, present in Spain since 1834.

In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family. He is passionate about reading, history, and sports.
