“Protect Me”, the new weather alert app
Developed in partnership with Meteologix, it fosters prevention by providing weather warnings tailored to users’ needs coupled with features to encourage behavioural change
As extreme climate events become more and more frequent, it is important to raise people’s awareness and ability to prevent climate-related hazards. To achieve this, Generali has launched “Protect Me”, a new digital solution developed in collaboration with Meteologix, a provider of weather information around the globe including satellite imagery, radar and exclusive model forecasts.
“Protect Me” is the weather alert app that offers users reliable warnings in case of extreme weather conditions based on high quality weather forecasts coupled with tips to be better protected while travelling by car (so as to avoid, for example, aquaplaning in at-risk locations) or to increase prevention and protection of properties in residential areas, making a significant contribution in saving lives thanks to complete and timely information tailored to users’ needs.
Currently available in Germany, “Protect Me” promises to raise awareness on weather-related risks and promotes prevention by encouraging behavioural changes, thus making users their own weather risk managers. An innovation that will further support Generali’s claims management and create more value for customers, reinforcing the Group’s Lifetime Partner ambition.
