Board and employees of Generali Deutschland AG donate about € 750,000 to Caritas for Covid-19 aid projects
The Board of Management and the employees of Generali Deutschland AG voluntarily donated money from their overtime account or from their salary to the Corona emergency aid. About € 750,000 go to Caritas Germany.
The donation will be passed on to institutions and organizations which will use the money for social projects at all locations of Generali in Germany.
Peter Neher, President of the German Caritas Association: “In the past weeks, the local Caritas organizations have been dependent on donations in order to support and accompany people in an uncomplicated, fast and targeted manner. Despite the easing of the situation, we also know that the need will remain great in the coming weeks and months. We are all the more grateful for any support our associations receive. We are very grateful to Generali and its employees.“
Giovanni Liverani, Chief Executive Officer of Generali Deutschland AG, adds: “As a lifetime partner of our customers it was a matter of our heart to do more than just fulfil our obligations. In such a crisis situation it is precisely personal commitment that counts. I am therefore all the more pleased that the colleagues and the Board of Management team of Generali in Germany have donated to aid projects to alleviate the consequences of Corona. Caritas is the ideal partner to make such a contribution in the communities where we live. In this way we help people in need in a targeted way and thus make an important contribution to our society.”
