Generali by India’s side to tackle Covid-19
The Group has donated medical oxygen concentrators and lung ventilators to the Indian Red Cross, shipped today thanks to a humanitarian flight of the Italian Cooperation service
Generali, together with Regione Lombardia, has joined an initiative of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation to deliver 8 tons of medical equipment to tackle Covid-19 in India.
The humanitarian flight, with material donated by Generali and Regione Lombardia, departed today from the United Nations Humanitarian Response Depot (UNHRD) in Brindisi heading to New Dehli. It includes 300 medical oxygen concentrators and 42 lung ventilators that will be delivered to the Indian Red Cross, who are at the forefront of efforts to contrast the spread of the pandemic in the country.
Since the beginning of the pandemic in 2020, Generali has immediately committed concrete resources for the communities in which it operates, launching an Extraordinary International Fund for € 100 million while developing initiatives to support families and businesses, and engaging with the international community to face what is both a health crisis and an economic crisis. Generali’s support is in response to requests for assistance from the Indian Authorities.
Generali thanks the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation for the strong and immediate collaboration.
