Italian Insurtech Summit, Generali awarded at the IIA Awards 2024
Italian Insurtech Association recognised Group Head Office, Generali Italia, and Generali Welion for their contribution to innovation in the insurance sector through new operational models and digital solutions based on collaboration and shared innovation
Generali's commitment to innovation in the insurance sector through new operational models and digital solutions has been once again recognized: three initiatives were awarded at the fifth edition of the Italian Insurtech Summit "Innovation Out Of The Box", a key event for the insurance industry organized by the Italian Insurtech Association (IIA) in collaboration with SHARE.
Generali Group Head Office's project "Generali for the European network of CorpUp Studios" was awarded in the Open Innovation Hubs category. It is a European ecosystem of innovation centres (called "CorpUps" from the union of CORPorate and startUPs) present in various countries, including Italy, Switzerland, France, and Germany. The goal is to create new industrial partnerships with startups and promote innovation at a European level, both through direct investments and by developing prototypes of new business solutions. Each hub is dedicated to specific areas, including fintech, insurtech, HealthTech, and generative AI.
Generali Italia was awarded in the Insurance Product Innovation category for a “Noleggio Lungo Termine in Agenzia” ("Long-Term Rental in Agency"). The goal of the project – developed in partnership with Moov - is to enrich the agency network offer by providing integrated solutions that combine long-term rental with premium insurance coverage, creating an embedded insurance model. This approach, which enhances the agencies' distribution capabilities, will enable them to support their customers in the energy transition also including solutions for electric mobility.
Generali Welion was also awarded in the Customer Experience Innovation category for the project “Trova Strutture Evoluto” ("Advanced Structure Finder"). The goal of the initiative is to ensure speed and simplicity in accessing medical care at specialized centres in Italy that are part of Generali Welion's healthcare network. The project proposes an innovative approach to prevention, both in terms of streamlining processes - thanks to digitalization - and improving user experience.
These new recognitions demonstrate Generali's ongoing commitment to innovation in the insurance sector through the introduction of new operational models and digital solutions as well as the way the Group contributes to creating value for all stakeholders through collaboration and shared innovation.
