Generali’s trailblazing year in Innovation, 15 awards and counting
Generali sets a new standard in insurance innovation and digital transformation by celebrating a year of unmatched achievements
Generali has made remarkable strides in innovation throughout 2023. This year alone, the Group has been honoured with 15 awards in total for its initiatives and projects in innovation. Included in this score are the past month’s 6 new additional awards received during the IIA summit and the ITCDIA Diamond Awards, reflecting our commitment to excellence in Innovation and confirming, once again, our position as leaders in Insurance Innovation.

Five recognitions for our Group’s entities
At the Italian Insurtech Association Summit (IIA) held in Milan early December, Generali won four prestigious awards and secured third place in a highly competitive category. Read below the winning entries:
- Generali Investments – Citizen Developer: Revolutionizing employee empowerment, this program harnesses user-friendly low-code platforms, enabling staff to spearhead automation efforts and make an immediate impact. (Category: Reskilling Initiative);
- Generali Jeniot – MoVe-in: An innovative system for monitoring and controlling polluting vehicle traffic. Using a telematics device, it tracks daily mileage, granting drivers access to restricted zones within a specified annual limit. (Category: Environmental Sustainability Initiative);
- Generali Jeniot – NEXT: A cutting-edge mobility solution that seamlessly integrates insurance protection, telematics services, tolling, and digital payments. (Category: Excellence in Service Innovation);
- Generali Welion - BeneFit: A comprehensive prevention program for corporate employees, focusing on increased activity, improved nutrition, and overall health care. (Category: Excellence in Benefit);
- Generali France– RiskCare: A platform bringing together customer, engineers, and intermediaries to multiply our loss prevention capacity on SME industrial risks (3rd place in startup insurtech of the year).
A special award for HITS, Generali’s corporate startup
During the Future of Insurance summit organized by Digital Insurance Agenda (DIA) and InsureTech Connect (ITC) in Munich, Generali’s first ever created corporate Startup HITS won the Diamond award for its Enterprise Bot which enhances user engagement and streamline employee assistance using conversational AI and process automation solutions, all backed by large language models such as ChatGPT.

Adding to these achievements, the University of Pavia’s Institute for Transformative Innovation Research recognized Generali as one of Italy's top ten innovators in 2023, a further testament to our impactful approach to business and digital transformation, as well as our commitment to sustainable, social, and environmental progress.
On the podium for three years in a row
Generali's innovation efforts have also been spotlighted on the global stage. For three consecutive years, we have been the proud recipients of the Qorus-Accenture Innovation in Insurance Awards. Winning the Global Innovator Award twice and securing a silver once, Generali has been acknowledged for its visionary corporate approach, as they award the company whose guiding philosophy emphasizes constant innovation and change and not only leads but also cultivates an extensive network of partners that reaches beyond the insurance sector.
Over the past three years, Generali has gained a remarkable collection of 26 awards in recognition of our pivotal role in driving the digital and technological evolution of the insurance sector. These achievements are not just milestones but markers of our journey towards a more innovative future.
