Generali Deutschland becomes official partner of the legendary Kandahar Ski World Cup in Garmisch-Partenkirchen
From top running events and tennis to winter sports: last weekend, Generali Deutschland AG officially became the main partner of the Kandahar Ski World Cup in Garmisch-Partenkirchen. The "Kandahar" is regarded as one of the most challenging racetracks in the Alpine Ski World Cup and is one of the absolute highlights in the FIS racing calendar, alongside the downhill runs in Kitzbühel and Wengen.
Generali has come a long way, expanding its engagement in sports events to motivate people to do more exercise and adopt a healthy lifestyle. With this sponsorship initiative, Generali is motivating both families with active skiers and those who have never been on skis before to go out in the snow and get active during the winter months.
With its commitment to winter sports, Generali is also addressing the spectators of the Ski World Cup on site. On the race weekends, winter sports enthusiasts have the opportunity to join in the live excitement as the world's best in international skiing compete for the coveted podium places.
Since the launch of the initiative Generali moves Germany in 2016, Generali has established itself as the leading supporter of German running. With its title patronage of the Generali Munich Marathon, Generali Berlin Half-Marathon and Generali Köhlbrandbrückenlauf in Hamburg and the top marathon events in Berlin, Frankfurt and Cologne, the insurer moved nearly 200,000 people last year alone. Starting from 2020, Generali will further expand its sports commitment and will become the title sponsor of the Generali Cologne Marathon and premium partner of the German Tennis Federation.
On Saturday 1 February 2020, the Ski World Cup began with the men’s downhill, followed by the Giant Slalom on Sunday. The women’s races will be held this upcoming weekend, with the downhill race on Saturday followed by the Super-G on Sunday.
