Generali and Microsoft promoting grass-roots innovation

The Generali Group, in collaboration with Microsoft, organized the “Generali Innovation Challenge”, an ambitious international project dedicated to research and the promotion of talent and innovative start-ups able to respond to new business challenges in the insurance sector. In only a month, more than 700 startups took advantage of the Generali Innovation Challenge platform, 40 projects were analysed and six start-ups were invited to the final decisive ‘pitching day’ session that took place on the November 6, 2015.

The jury made up of representatives from Generali, Microsoft and United Ventures declared the Italian start-up Authometion Srl. as the winner of the contest. The winners presented LYT Sonic, a very innovative project to make houses safer and reduce domestic burglary with a simple LED bulb and infrasound technology able to detect movements within 150 square meters.
