Generali ownership plan We SHARE 2.0 honoured at GEO Awards
We SHARE 2.0, the second and enhanced Share Plan for Generali Group employees, was recognised at the last edition of the GEO (Global Equity Organization) Awards in Nashville, which have celebrated the excellence of employee share plans at global level for more than 20 years.
The plan was awarded in the “Most Innovative Plan Design” category thanks to the creative approach implemented in its development and enhancement. The assessment considered the innovative ways in which We SHARE 2.0 promotes employee engagement and its originality compared with peers and industry norms, as well as the ability to implement a unique global plan in over 30 countries, adapting to local specificities.
In December 2023, We SHARE 2.0 was also recognised as “Best New Share Plan” at ProShare Awards celebrations.
We SHARE 2.0 provides Group employees with the opportunity to purchase Generali shares at favourable conditions within a protected framework, awarding them additional free shares in case of share price appreciation. With the aim to embed the Group’s climate strategy objectives and to make the new plan more effective with respect to the current market context, We SHARE 2.0 introduced some enhancements to its first edition. Among them are the allocation of additional free shares linked to an ESG goal connected to the CO2 emissions reduction of Generali’s operations and the broadening of the exercise period, to assess the share price appreciation condition.
The plan, having a duration of indicatively 3 years, was launched in June 2023 and offered to more than 68,000 Group employees in 34 countries. Over 23,400 people joined, demonstrating the enthusiasm and the sense of belonging of employees towards Generali and its strategic vision, as well as appreciation for the enhancements introduced.
Through We SHARE 2.0, Generali aims to promote the engagement of people from across the Group towards the achievement of strategic objectives, a culture of ownership and empowerment, and employee participation in sustainable value creation.
