Some tips about a still widespread disease: malaria
David Modiano, Professor of Parasitology at University “La Sapienza” in Rome, talks about malaria, a disease that is transmitted through the bites of infected mosquitoes and that is still one of the most dangerous in the world. Due to its endemic presence in large parts of our planet – from Asia to Africa and Latin America – and to the high annual mortality rate, malaria remains one of the main health emergencies to deal with. Thanks to the scientific research and the commitment of several international institutions, there is more awareness about preventing and controlling the disease that will necessarily call for an improvement of social conditions.
