How plants and genetic engeneering can tackle climate change
Fighting climate change by switching the colour of the Earth. A suggestion made possible by genetic engineering, which is studying the way to extend the lifetime of seasonal plants. Increasing the overall amount of plants would be an effective restraint to the CO2 in the atmosphere and, at the same time, would produce a spectacular green metamorphosis to our planet, changing its colour. Finally, it would also decrease the temperature, due to the heat held to a lesser extent. Franco Miglietta, biometeorologist at CRN – National Research Council, explains how it all could happen.
