Generali Philippines' invaluable contribution to Early Childhood Development of vulnerable families
Parents have the greatest impact on their children’s development & by supporting parents in the first six years of their children’s life to lay the strongest possible foundations for their future. The early years are also the most vulnerable: poverty, stress and neglect can hurt children’s chances in life. In the Philippines, 5 million boys and girls are at risk of not achieving their full potential. But even in great adversity, the best safety net for young children is a nurturing relationship with their parents.
Infants and young children deserve to be in a safe, protective and nuturing environment as they grow. In support of the healthy development of Filipino children, we have partnered with ChildFund Philippines in building the capacities of local governement and communities, and parents to provide them Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD). The program aims to equip parents and caregivers on proper ECD knowledge, attitudes and practices towards infants and young children under their care in Metro Manila.
Committing to support the lives of vulnerable Filipino families and children is more than a responsibility. It is a social value of creating meaningful and long-lasting impact in the communities where we operate in. We believe in sharing our capabilities, resources and network in making a positive change to Filipinos.
Parents have the greatest impact on their children’s development. That is why The Human Safety Net Philippines for Families program supports parents in vulnerable circumstances by investing in parenting courses and centers. Over 3 to 12 months, parents learn how they can nurture their children’s development every day. They become more confident and cope better with their emotions and stress. Families also connect with each other as well as with relevant services.
