Generali supports deep cultural exchange between east and west through exhibition of Marco Polo’s journey of knowledge

Marco Polo stands as one of history's greatest Italians, and his legendary journey along the Silk Road between Europe and Asia has had a profound impact on cultural exchanges between Italy and China. Carrying this spirit of connection forward to the present day, Generali Asia is proud to honor his legacy by sponsoring the exhibitionJourney of Knowledge - The Travels of Marco Polo and Its Legacy Between East and West,” organized by the Italian Embassy in China.

The launch ceremony of this exhibition in late July was graced by notable attendees, including Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, China's Minister of Culture and Tourism Sun Yeli, Italian Ambassador to China Massimo Ambrosetti, Generali Asia Regional Officer Rob Leonardi, Chairman of Generali China Life Xuesong Zhao, and CEO of Generali China Insurance Jack Yuan. This remarkable exhibition showcases 135 precious artifacts from Marco Polo's journey.

Generali has always been committed to fostering understanding and connection with people in all markets where we operate. Among the exhibits is a depiction of The Lion of St. Mark, a symbol of the Republic of Venice that has held significance in Italian history for centuries. This iconic statue also inspired the flying lion logo of Generali, further bridging our heritage with the spirit of exploration and cultural exchange.
