Career
Philippe Donnet is Engineer graduated from the École Polytechnique in 1983 and associate member of the Institut des Actuaires in 1991.
Between 1985 and 2007, he held various positions within the AXA Group, most recently serving as Regional CEO Asia Pacific, Singapore. In 2007, he became the Managing Director for Asia Pacific at Wendel Investissements, Singapore. In 2010, he co-founded the investment management company HLD in Paris. In October 2013, he joined Generali as Country Manager Italy and CEO of Generali Italia S.p.A. In this role, he spearheaded the process of merging the existing Generali brands in Italy, one of the most challenging integration and simplification projects in the European insurance industry.
He became Group CEO of Assicurazioni Generali S.p.A. on March 17, 2016 and he was appointed Chairman of the Board of Directors of Generali Italia S.p.A. on May 12, 2016 until August 31, 2022.
From April 2008 to April 2016, he was member of the Supervisory Board of Vivendi. From October 2013 to June 2016, he was on the Board of Directors of Banca Generali S.p.A. From January 2016 to April 2017, he was Deputy Chairman of ANIA and from February 2015 to February 2018, he was Chairman of the MIB Trieste School of Management.
On May 15, 2006 he was awarded the Chevalier de l’Ordre National du Mérite.
On July 13, 2016, he was awarded the Chevalier dans l’Ordre de la Légion d’honneur.
On May 31, 2021, he was awarded the Cavaliere del Lavoro.
